Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing Supa GRO.
Follow these instructions carefully and you will be rewarded with an amazing amount of results.
We strongly recommend that you start the growing process immediately. This will significantly decrease the chance of any contamination!
Scope Of Delivery:
-Supa GRO 100% mycelium kit with 1200ml or 2100ml of 100% colonized substrate
-Special plastic “Supa Bag” with ventilation holes for superb grow results
-Paperclips
You Need:
-Clean tap of water or mineral water.
-A bright place with natural or artificial light (but never in direct sunlight)
-A consistent temperature (day and night) inside the bag must be between 24 and 26 degrees (minimum 22 and maximum 28 degrees)
-Relative humidity 95% or more inside the bag
-A little patience!
-A clean spray bottle (not an old one from detergent)
Important:
Under normal circumstances and unless the kit is not visibly dry, Supa GRO Grow Kit should NOT be soaked in order to start growing – The kit is 100% ready to grow. All you need to have is some patience and common sense. The holes in the grow bag ensure better air circulation and a healthy growth!
Just set it and forget it. The nature will do the rest!
Step 1-Preparation
Take the Supa GRO kit out of the cardboard box, but don’t throw the cardboard box away yet! You’ll need it later on.
Mushrooms grow best in an environment with a relative humidity of 95% - 99%. from the moment you set up, so a minimum of 95% humidity is achieved. Take the “Supa bag” and spray well clean water with the help of misting bottle on the inner side of the bag. Then pour about 200ml of clean water on the bottom of the bag, holding the bag upright, so water does not escape through the ventilation holes on the side of the “Supa bag”
Important: You should NEVER spray directly on developing mushrooms.
Step 2-Placing the kit inside the grow bag
Take off the lid. Spray tiny amount of clean water on the surface of the kit/substrate. Put the Supa GRO box in the “Supa GRO Bag”. Make sure the bag is standing straight up and that the opening of the bag is pointing upwards.
Step 3-Closing the grow bag
Close the “Supa Bag” by folding it twice and secure it with the two supplied paper clips.
Step 4-Starting the growing proces
Place the complete setup (grow kit and Supa Bag) back inside the cardboard box to prevent light from stimulating mushroom growth on the sides of the grow box. Make sure the bag is standing straight up.
Step 5-Light and Temperature
Place the kit in a bright spot and maintain consistent temperature inside the bag must be between 24 and 26 degrees (day and night). Don’t place it in direct sunlight though! Indirect sunlight is the ideal lighting to grow mushrooms.
Also, make sure your grow kit is placed away from direct heating sources such as radiators and air conditioners! If you use a heat mat, you will need the “Supa MAT Protector” in order to make sure you do not overheat the grow kit, and yet your ambient room temperature must not be below 22 degrees.
Step 6-Hydration
A sign of good hydration and high humidity is that you have constant moisture/condensation on the inner side of the bag. If there is little to no condensation in the inner side of the grow bag, open it, spray clean water on the insides and close the bag.
Step 7-Ventilation / FAE (Fresh Air Exchange)
It is also VERY important that, starting from day 1, you ventilate the kit preferably twice a day (morning/evening) for approx. 30 seconds. Open the bag, take a clean piece of paper and wave that above the opening so air flows through. Make sure that you work sterile and don’t breathe into the bag!
Depending on the growing conditions and on the time of the year, it may take up to 3 weeks for the first pinheads to start to show up. Once the first caps have shown up, it takes about a week for the mushrooms to fully develop.
Step 8-Harvesting
Working with mushroom kits requires cleanliness, so always wash your hands (and forearms) before plucking the crop - be meticulous, use soap, disinfectant gel and sterile gloves to prevent contamination. The best moment to pick the mushrooms is just before the veil tears - grab them at the very bottom and gently twist and pull to detach the fruit from the cake, do not pull it out as that would only cause harm to the mycelium.
PLEASE NOTE:
Using "heatmats", often causes uncontrolled overheating of the kit and chance of contamination significantly increases! In case your ambient temperature is too low and you are forced to use "heatmat" to achieve 24 to 26 degrees inside the grow bag , always use Supa Gro Mat protector, so you do not dry or overheat the kit. In those cases monitor humidity carefully and ventilate well.
-DO NOT take the mycelium "cake" out of the plastic box. This could only increase the chance of contamination.
-DO NOT breathe into the bag and always wash your hands thoroughly before you work with your kits - mold is everywhere and you don’t want to lose your heavenly crop to a malicious and demonic intruder - green mold will ruin the whole kit. We highly recommend the use of disinfectants, mouth masks and gloves.
-Make sure that your growing environment is a clean and well ventilated area. You should keep the kit away from other plants, animals, food and other possible sources of contamination.
-Are you growing your kit during a colder period? Make sure to take extra care of the temperature and the humidity inside the bag as the air can be generally drier when house/ambient heating is on.
-We strongly recommend wearing short sleeves and sanitizing your hands and arms up to the elbows before opening the box or bag at all times.
